Harvest time....soon
My handmade pumpkin |
Hello everyone, I know I have been absent and for that I am very sorry. It has been a long hot summer and I am glad we are quiet near the end. I am so happy to know Autumn will soon be on our doorstep. Sooner for some than others! The soon change of season has put me in the mood for crafting. Making pumpkins from old sweater's for one thing. Wreaths as well....one for the door and one for the wall. A banner also to string across my front window. Its been fun using them to decorate my home with . Now I just can't wait for the weather to cooperate and take a turn for cooler temps.
How about you....are you ready for Autumn? Thanks for stopping by today friends.
Blessings Shelley
Hi Shelley! Pretty pumpkin. I hope you get cooler temps soon! Andrea
ReplyDeleteAutumn is my favourite time of the year . I love your Autumn crafting :) x
ReplyDeleteYour pumpkin is cute. We had a couple of days of cool rainy weather a little while back and I almost started my fall decorating and then we zoomed right back into 90 degree days, and I got right out of the mood. I really like your idea of a window banner and am looking forward to seeing a picture of it. The only decorating for Fall that I have done is a basket arrangement with fall flowers, little pumpkins on picks, and colorful fake leaves on my front door. I'm looking forward to some cooler weather, and a bit of a stretched out Fall, instead of going from 90 degrees to winter in just a week or two.
ReplyDeleteI was glad to see your post here today.
I drove past a house that was all done up for Halloween already, with a ton of fake spiderwebs, skeletons, and a ton of other stuff out on their porch and in the yard. It was a blazing hot, humid 93 degrees today, and the Halloween stuff just looked smothering to me, especially the spiderwebs laid on thick. I guess they have kids that are already excited about and can't wait for Halloween. It felt so hot to me today, I couldn't believe it when the weather said it was 93 degrees out. The outside surfaces of our car were so hot we could have used mittens to keep from burning our hands as we got into it.
Please don't apologize for posting infrequently. Your posts are always a welcome surprise. They are a reminder to do more with less and enjoy the doing instead of buying stuff to match the latest magazine illustrations. Thanks again for your blog. -- Eva Zukotynski
ReplyDeleteHello Dear Friend,
ReplyDeleteSo nice to read your post and know you are up to some crafting. I really like that pumpkin.
I hope your weather is into the pleasant temperatures soon. It was a hot and often times smoky summer here from wild fires in the forests in Eastern WA so we are looking forward to cooler days and fresher air. Now is already better and makes for nice autumn days.
Blessings upon you, Shelley,
Lily
