Planning Ahead

I am a week out from surgery today. I've been feeling well, just trying to get used to the changes made to my stomach and how I am to manage getting food and drinks down now. Drinks mostly because I'm still on full liquids for another week . I'm really feeling much better than I had expected I would , but everyday has been different.  I have fought depression on several days trying to settle over me as well. Praying and reading God's word has worked wonderfully with that . Today , weather wise we had cold settle over the piney woods. Freezing temps, sleet, and iced over roads sent kids home from school.  I'm staying toasty in my home though, and even enjoyed a visit from my youngest daughter and her children. As I sit here in my chair, I find myself looking around and thinking it's time to do some more weeding of stuff. I haven't done any in a while so as soon as I'm up to it that will be one of my first projects. I guess you could say I've already began, as I have sent four dolls , doll clothes and a doll bed out the door in the last few days. A couple of ladies and one little girl were very happy. My closet will be one of the first areas I purge as I plan on this surgery working, and I'll be losing much weight this year and won't be able to wear the clothes I have now anyway. So , I'll go ahead and get a head start on that happening.

  2. Shelley, I am excited to hear are doing so well since my surgery is coming up on Friday. Depression is something I have battled for many years so I pray that I don't have problems with that, anymore than I already do. That scares me but I am going to focus on the future, sewing new skirts at each new stage, and try to get in some much needed walking(providing my back allows it). We need to stay connected as moral support for one another!

    Grace & Peace.

  3. So good to know that you are doing well after the surgery. See the blessing that you are recovering so well and surrounded by prayer and the love of Our Lord. How exciting that you will be losing the weight calmly throughout the year. Take your time with that and remember that what food Our God has made is always good for you! many blessings! mari
