Simple Life Series

Simple living can have many different meanings for many different people.  I will be sharing here more of what it means to me and how I plan to achieve what I'm looking for in the simple life and why! For starters just let me say, I haven't just started the idea of living a simple life. As I explained previously at my former blog, "Simply Shelley"  most of my adult life I've already been living a simplistic life, but mostly out of necessity.  It's how I had to accommodate our lives as we lived on a very modest income, I really wouldn't even call it modest.....we were just plain ole poor folks.  My oldest three children can testify to that fact. However we had one thing going for us that not all "poor folks" have.....I put God first and because of that, God blessed our family in so many ways.  It isn't always about having enough money. .....sometimes it is more about having enough of everything that is truly needful!. We had to work hard, but God always provided our real needs. My life as a home keeper could have been measured more by a housewife from the 30's or 40's than that of the housewife through the 80's and 90's as that's how far behind our times we were.  It wasn't until 1993 that we had our very first home phone or washer and dryer.
Which doesn't seem that long ago to me :)    Those three eldest children I mentioned above,they were not hurt in the least by our humble means. In fact they so happen to cherish their childhood, such as it was to this very day.  Are so they have lead me to believe......he he
Seriously though , I believe they really do!  But now with my kiddos grown, being an empty nester and with no husband, where might this desire to further simplify my life lead me to?  I'll share more in another post about that soon.  Blessings my dear friends
