The Ties That Bind

I've been away from home.  I stayed almost a week with my parents.  My only sister and some of her family came from out of town to visit as well, so it was a very full week!
My sister and I are four years apart, she being the older of us two.  Sadly, we were never very close as children, but we loved each other regardless. Our childhood was a bit bumpy, especially my sister's, which left her with many issues which she never came to terms with, then led her down some disturbing paths in her life.  She has Bi Polar now, along with other issues as well. My heart goes out to her in love, but the best I can do for her is pray for her healing and love her unconditionally. I certainly do, with all my heart. We all live in such a broken world, full of hurting, broken people, but God's grace, mercy, forgiveness, and love will definitely see us through until the end, if we trust and believe in him to do so. Trusting can be so hard at times when it seems that our lives, and the lives of others are just in shambles, but determination and prayer will keep us standing on our own two feet.

Bonding

I hope all you mothers had a special day. Maybe you've never given birth to a child, but have a mother's heart, and have been a mama to many......I want to say I hope your "Mother's " day was special as well. Being a true mother is so much, much more than just giving birth to a baby. It's about giving time, making many sacrifices, and putting others before ourselves.  It's dedication, loving unconditionally, and so on, and so on.  It's a love like that of God!
